I don't know why wearing lettuce is a valid protest supporting vegetarianism. It seems wasteful to take vegetables that could have fed people and then wear them in support of eating vegetables. If you want to be a vegetarian more power to you but pushing it on other people by wearing vegetables makes no sense. You don't see people wearing steaks to support eating meat.

In 1978 the Galapagos Islands were declared the first World Heritage Site by Unesco. Ecuador has done some work to protect the islands but islands are still in danger. Now, the same committee which declared it needed protection is removing it from the protected list.
